JULIA FISCHER RELEASES EXTENDED VINYL EDITION OF YSAŸE'S SIX SONATAS ON HÄNSSLER CLASSIC
When founding her own music platform, the JF CLUB, Julia Fischer recorded Eugène Ysaÿe's Six Sonatas for Solo Violin. This recording was first released in 2021 as a limited-edition double LP on Hänssler Classic. Now, with In Ysaÿe's World, a new extended vinyl edition follows, including additional works that are closely connected to Ysaÿe's music.
Ysaÿe's sonatas are among the great masterpieces of violin literature. Not only are they technically demanding, but they are also deeply intertwined with the history of great violinists - each sonata is dedicated to a friend or student of Ysaÿe and reflects their individual style. To further highlight this historical context, Julia Fischer has expanded her recording with works directly linked to Ysaÿe's music, including compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, Fritz Kreisler, Georges Enescu, and Mathieu Crickboom. In this latest release, Henri Bonamy - Julia Fischer's longtime chamber music partner - performs the piano parts in the additional pieces.
The new limited-edition 4-record vinyl set was released by Hänssler Classic in Spring 2025, offering music lovers the opportunity to experience this exceptional interpretation.
