Julia Fischer opens the summer of 2026 with a series of prestigious festival appearances in Germany and Switzerland where she joins leading orchestras and long-standing musical partners. A particular highlight will be the performance of all 24 Paganini Caprices in a single evening at her own festival in Boswil.

Tegernsee Music Festival (22 July 2026): Under the title Julia Fischer & Friends, the violinist joins forces with Lena Neudauer, Eva Zavaro, Valerie Steenken, Nils Mönkemeyer, Wen Xiao Zheng, Maximilian Hornung and Benjamin Nyffenegger to perform two milestones of the chamber music repertoire: George Enescu’s monumental Octet for Strings, Op. 7, and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s celebrated String Octet, Op. 20.

Particularly close to Julia Fischer’s heart is the collaboration with the next generation of musicians. Among the performers are two of her former students, Eva Zavaro and Valerie Steenken, who now share the stage with their teacher.

Festspiele Mecklenburg-VorpommernA few days later, the octet programme continues at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival. With an almost unchanged line-up, Julia Fischer and her musical partners once again present the two great masterpieces for string octet by Mendelssohn and Enescu.

Neuschwanstein ConcertsOn 29 July, the opening night of the festival set against the backdrop of the renowned royal castle, Julia Fischer will appear as soloist with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen under the direction of Omer Meir Wellber. In the courtyard of Neuschwanstein Castle, Julia Fischer will bring a diverse and eventful festival summer to a close with performances of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto and Saint-Saëns’ Rondo Capriccioso.

Julia Fischer is currently appearing as a soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic  in a distinguished “Czech evening” programme. Under the baton of Czech conductor Jakub Hrůša, she is performing Josef Suk’s rarely heard Fantasy for Violin and Orchestra in G minor, Op. 24 at the Philharmonie in Berlin.

The concert programme is devoted entirely to 20th-century Czech music, bringing together works by Vítězslava Kaprálová, Josef Suk and Bohuslav Martinů. Julia Fischer performs Suk’s passionate and richly coloured Fantasy, a work that combines late-Romantic expressiveness with a distinctly national musical language.

For Julia Fischer, this project marks her return to the Berlin Philharmonic. Her last appearance with the orchestra was at the Salzburg Easter Festival in 2011. The concerts in June 2026 are her first performances with the Berlin Philharmonic at the Philharmonie Berlin.

The concert today, on 6 June at 7 pm (CET) will be streamed live via the Berlin Philharmonic’s Digital Concert Hall, making it accessible to audiences around the world.

Boswil Summer 2026: Program Announced

The program for Boswil Summer 2026 has been finalized and is now available online. The renowned chamber music festival, under the artistic direction of Julia Fischer and Benjamin Nyffenegger, will take place this year from June 26 to July 5, placing a special focus on the artists themselves: their personal perspectives, their individual voices, and the immediate power of their interpretations. In the intimate setting of the Künstlerhaus Boswil, music becomes a direct and deeply personal experience.

One of the special highlights is the concert “Devilish Caprices,” in which violinist Julia Fischer takes on one of the greatest challenges in the violin repertoire: the 24 Caprices by Niccolò Paganini. This extraordinary project promises virtuosity at the highest level while offering insight into the myths surrounding Paganini’s legendary technique. 

Boswil Summer 2026 once again brings together distinguished artists such as Julia Fischer, Herbert Schuch, Adrien La Marca, Oliver Schnyder, and many others, who will present the richness of chamber music in a wide variety of formations—from classical masterpieces to unusual programs and instrumentations, such as Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony “From the New World” arranged for six cellos. The festival also features emerging talents, including the young prize-winning violinist Edna Unseld, the 16-year-old violinist Clemens Reissenweber, and Elena Schönlebe, who is already familiar to Boswil audiences. 

A central mission of the festival remains the promotion of young musicians: as part of the masterclasses, established artists pass on their knowledge to the next generation. The public final concert, “Music of the Future,” offers audiences the opportunity to experience these young talents live.The full program and further information are available online.
